2020 Year In Review: DockMaster adapts technology as the boating industry adjusts to new practices

DockMaster’s new enhancements and features designed to increase revenue opportunities 

As 2020 comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on what DockMaster has managed to accomplish amid a year full of uncertainty.  

With many new enhancements to our software, we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank our clients for having a hand in these improvements. We constantly strive to improve our products and services to better serve our clients and their feedback always plays a huge role in making that happen. 

Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic presented many challenges for the boating industry. However there were plenty of positive developments throughout the year. With people of all backgrounds looking for safe activities with respect to proper social distancing, boating emerged as a viable choice. In fact, boat sales and boating activity saw record highs in many respects. Those trends are expected to continue into 2021. 

As for DockMaster, our products are designed to help marinas, boatyards and dealers navigate through these mysterious times.  

Now, let’s recap what enhancements were made in 2020 to both our products and services, as well as some other highlights of the year.  

Online Sales Integration, Powered By SpeedyDock  

Back in the fall, we launched a brand-new integration with SpeedyDock, which uses Shopify to help marine operators build profitable online stores.

New president 

Back in April, DockMaster appointed Kent Howard as our new president. He has brought with him his passion of seeing clients thrive by leveraging new technologies available to them. His background in the hospitality industry also brought a unique perspective and has allowed us to consider new factors in enhancing our software and services. Our goal remains the same, and that’s building the best possible solutions for the industry. 

What’s on the way? 

We have some exciting new features coming to our software. This features a simple ‘click and pay’ solution for your customers and a lead management solution for sales teams. Best of all, it’s all linked with DockMaster.   

Our DM Pay feature will allow you to spend less time on accounts receivables. Now, users can simply email statements and invoices to customers. 

Our Prospect Mobile system will allow your sales team to manage leads. And it’s all synced to DockMaster on their smartphone or tablet. It will give your sales team more flexibility on the go thanks to synced information within LeadMaster and Prospecting. You can create follow up tasks, enter notes as you would in LeadMaster, view ‘My Day’, conduct an inventory look up and more!
