Professional associations play an integral role in the development of our industry. The existence of well-run professional associations offers multilevel benefits: to the industry as a whole, and to its individual members. The most obvious benefit to the industry is the platform for education and technology transfer. Here’s our most current list of Professional Associations, but we’re continually adding more so please check back often:

 


American Boat Builders and Repairers Assoc. (ABBRA)

ABBRA, founded in 1943, serves to strengthen and to encourage the professionalism of the marine service industry through the sharing of knowledge and the search for solutions to common problems. www.abbra.org

 


International Marine Institute (IMI)

IMI is a non-profit membership organization which offers Management training, education and information about research,legislation and environmental issues effecting the marina industry. IMI is a marine trade organization which encompasses all segments of the marina business on both a National and International basis.

 


Marine Industries Assoc of South Florida (MIASF)

The MIASF is a not-for-profit leadership organization created to promote and protect the sound growth of the marine industry in South Florida for the benefit and education of its members, the community and the environment. www.goboating.org www.miasf.org

 


Marine Operators Association (MOAA)

NMMA is dedicated to creating, promoting and protecting an environment where members can achieve financial success through excellence in manufacturing, in selling, and in servicing their customers. NMMA provides a wide variety of programs and services tailored to member needs: technical expertise, standards monitoring, government relations avocation, industry statistics and more. www.nmma.org

 


Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA)

For over 25 years, MRAA has been the voice for marine retailers in the Recreational Boating Industry. While marine retailers have been forced to ride the storm of negative market trends and industry legislation, MRAA has been there to turn the tide, creating superior benefits for its members and fighting full-time for the rights of the retailers in Washington. www.mraa.com
